The Conference

To Soundscape, as a means of identity construction and civilizational process, affective, aesthetic and patrimonial values have been attributed.

The Soundscape Conference is dedicated to the reflection on the current significance of the interaction between humans, nature and music over time, in the construction of cultural and soundscape.
Within a multidisciplinary approach, the Conference will have as one of its main objectives to promote approaches in the field of Music Studies in dialogue with other areas of study such as History, Literature, Philosophy, Architecture and Visual Arts, among others. The Congress will gather specialists who are presently coordinating Research Projects in Historical Soundscape in Spain (Seville and Granada in cooperation with the European Association for Digital Humanities) and Portugal (University of Évora), among other invited experts in the fields of Musicology, History, Literature, Archeology and Musical Performance.

To submit a communication proposal, you must send it by April 26, 2019 in the form of a summary of 200-300 words, accompanied by a brief biographical note, to the email:

Communications do not exceed twenty minutes. The texts of the communications will be submitted to peer review. Those selected will be published.
Languages of communication: Portuguese, French, English, Spanish.


  • 26th April — deadline to send communication proposals (abstract of 200-300 words).
  • 29th April — deadline for the Organization's response.
  • 30th April — communication of the provisional agenda.
  • 6th May — deadline for registration at the Colloquium.
  • 10th May — communication of the definitive program.
  • 23rd, 24th and 25th May — Congress.
